What Do I Get?
During the race, there will be water stations throughout the race course. Water will be available after you cross the finish line.
Do I need to be some sweet ole' runner to do this?
Oh my Word, NO. Do not be intimidated by the name "Jack Pine Savage"! There are plenty of other great 5Ks out there to test speed and performance. This run event is all about spending a fun day with friends and family. You can run, walk crawl, or cartwheel if you'd like.
Do I need to be in a team or can I be a solo Runner?
While we will not be doing official teams, it would be pretty cool to see teams dressed up and encouraging each other throughout the course.
What is included with my Jack Pine Savage Registration?
Runners will receive a custom Jack Pine Savage race shirt, a beard to make you look more like a lumberjack, a race number, and a custom wooden Jack Pine Savage medallion.
Do you donate to a charity or cause?
YES, we do!! One of our greatest visions for the Jack Pine Savage 5K Event is bringing fun, memories, and fundraising to our local community. Our specific charity is Outdoor Outreach, which serves the Stateline area and has recently gone Global, with the main focus still being the Stateline area!
Can I run with a jogging stroller and my kids?
As long as they are cute and like to have fun... all kiddos 5 and under can run with an adult FREE of charge and do not need to register! Bring your stroller, wagon, or carrier; whatever it takes to help your kids enjoy this trail! We also have the little Timber Race for the little Jack Pine Savages!!
Can I run with my dog?
NO DOGS at any of our races :(
Is there an age limit for younger runners?
No age limits :) If they can cover (running, jogging, walking, or strolling) the 3 miles of The Jack Pine Savage course, they can absolutely do The Jack Pine Savage Run! Remember though, as soon as they turn 6 they will need to register and have a race bib! Runners under 18 must have parent or guardian sign waiver.
Is there a packet pickup for the event? How does all that work?
Yes. Packet Pickup will be from 5:30pm-8:30pm, Thursday October 1st. How does it work? Park, stop in the main office, located behind the Lodge (front) building provide personnel with your information (if you registered before prior to day).
Can someone else pick up my packet for me?
How strict is the Lumberjack outfit for the start of the event?
Not strict at all. We just want you to have fun and get some great pictures of you dressed up like a lumberjack!
What kind of course/trail can I expect and will I be hurt, maimed, or killed?
This is a tree farm and there are some pretty great trails! The trail is not paved, expect a few leaves, dirt, and some rocks (but not boulders). It's pretty outdoors and there will be bugs, but it's nature right?!
Do you have "cleaning stations" at the finish line?
We don't foresee you will need a cleaning station. Of course, indoor restrooms are available for your personal business.
Can there be spectators?
Yes! As long as they remain off the course and are encouraging to the runners!!
Is The Jack Pine Savage Run timed?
Yes, it will be a timed event, but Runners can still take their sweet time out there and enjoy the trail!
Are there refunds?
Unfortunately, we cannot issue refunds. The logistics of setting up and planning the event make it impossible. Just make sure you are good to go before signing up. If for some reason you can't make it to race day, at least come to the check in, pick up your gear, and say hi to us!
